Rahul Gandhi Accuses BJP of 'Extortion' Over Electoral Bonds Issue

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s defense of the electoral bond scheme during a roadshow in Kozhikode. Gandhi claimed that Modi was attempting to justify what he described as the “biggest corruption scandal on the planet,” which allegedly allowed the BJP to secure massive funding from Indian businessmen.

In response to Modi’s claim in an ANI interview that electoral bonds were introduced to reduce black money in elections, Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of using diversions like promises of the Olympics and lunar missions to distract from issues like unemployment and inflation. Gandhi argued that Modi’s administration prioritizes the wealthy, overlooking the common man’s problems.

Additionally, Gandhi criticized the BJP and RSS for attempting to alter the Indian Constitution and pledged that the INDIA alliance would work to protect it. He also targeted the Agnipath scheme, labeling it an insult to the Indian Army’s traditional recruitment practices, and promised its repeal if his alliance won the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
